Panasonic TV Model FX74

Post  Willie on Wed May 12, 2010 3:22 am

I got the following problem, I cannot get hold of the schematic for this TV. Now I got a part that was destroyed on the hot side of the power supply. From what is written on the board I can see that it must be a SCS Transistor. A, K and G. It uses regulator IC STR S6709. This trasistors Katode is connected to one of the rectifier IC's legs. The Gate is connected through a series of filter caps to the primary side of the switch mode transformer. And Anode to ground. Do you think that I must use a certain SCS or can I use any SCS that comes from the HOT side of any TV board ?

This is an SCR, you need to you use a replacement that is the same or at least very similar spec. If you do not know what the original part number is than a schematic is needed, or maybe someone here who has worked on this model before can give the part number.

andrews electronics

have you tried andrews electronics? call them and give them the model no. of the tv and the location of the part>>.the number that's on the board. they will look it up for you. Usually they give you choice of buying OEM part or RCA etc. I think I would get the OEM panasonic factory part.
