lines all over compaq 1520 monitor

Here are pics of the monitor when switched on and also a pic of the lcd with boards ..I have checked caps on input board and all ok with esr meter.
Is this a panel problem ? TCP seems ok and does not look damaged..Not sure where to look next any help appreciated.
Thanks

Re: lines all over compaq 1520 monitor
Do the lines move when you (1) wiggle the ribbon cable from the main board to the LCD Panel and (2) press hard or knock gently on the top and sides of the panel frame. If (1), remove, clean and re-inset the ribbon cable. If (2), you have bad connection on the X and Y buffer boards inside the panel which need to be replaced.
Only other possibility is a bad main board, assuming you've check all caps properly.

Re: lines all over compaq 1520 monitor
Hi jmh,
Thanks for the reply and thanks for replying in my other post also. There are only the 2 boards above and this one that is attached to panel via the TCP ..i have added 2 pics showing the panel now on the first one the TCP is just attached to the lcd screen and just rests on the back panel as shown in pic 2 ..theres is a metal outer casing that then goes over the front panel ..now the TCP circled in pic 1 does not seem to attach anywhere it justs sits on the panel like in pic 2 ..Is this how it should be only seems odd to me that it justs lies on the panel if you can understand what i mean lol.

I think this is either main board or panel...Is there any other tests i can do .
Thanks

I didn't know you've taken the LCD panel apart. The X buffer is on top and Y buffer (circled in pic 1) on left of the LCD film. Re-bonding TCP requires Specialized Equipment , beyond the means of DIY.
Most lines on your monitor are solid and go from edge to edge, indicative of a bad panel. Lines caused by bad cap tend to pulsate or solarize.

Hi thanks jmh,
Should the TCP that is circled in this pic be attached to anything else only when i took the monitor apart this is how it looked and it was not attached to anything ..There are no other board's only the one to the left with the TCP attached to that.
